Bad-Daraich House has been designed to make your
self-catering holiday as comfortable and relaxed as
possible; it was built in 1860 but has been fully
refurbished while keeping many of the original Victorian
features, such as the cornices and beautiful tiling at the
entrance hall. Antique lovers will appreciate the heavy oak
table and dresser in the dining room, which also has
fantastic views from the window towards the hills of Morvern,
Tobermory Bay and the Sound Of Mull.
The fully equipped
country kitchen is complete with dishwasher, microwave, gas
hob and electric oven, fridge, cutlery, crockery in fact
everything you need for a relaxing holiday. The laundry room
contains washer, drier, deep freeze and pulleys.
The spacious drawing room has a multi-fuel stove, which also
heats the water. You will find a TV, video and DVD player in
this room and there is a separate childrens' lounge with a
variety of games . A downstairs cloakroom supplements the
main bathroom, which has a bath, shower and “foot-tap” sink.
There are 5 bedrooms in the house with enough beds to sleep
up to 14 people and 1 baby. All linen is provided except

Bad-Daraich House is situated in the upper part of Tobermory,
next to the golf course, set in 2.5 acres of garden , and its
elevated position gives it spectacular views
along the sound
of Mull and the hills of Morven It is within ten minutes
walking distance of Main Street, with its shops, post
office, bank, hotels and restaurants and there is ample
parking space next to the house. Children can play safely in
the garden on the slide and swings; indoors there is the
small children's' room on the ground floor. A self catering
holiday at Bad-Daraich House will give you the best of both
worlds in that if is privately situated in peaceful
surroundings, yet it is in the thriving and picturesque
fishing village of
Tobermory.
Mull is a perfect island with many miles of spectacular
coastline, mountains, glens and safe beaches. Activities to
suit all tastes are available; from fresh water and sea
fishing to pony trekking, bird watching and hill walking.
Cameras and binoculars are essential for your holiday on
Mull and nature lovers will be able to choose from several
wild life expeditions on land and at sea. For those keen
golfers, we are a stone's throw from Tobermory Golf Course,
one of the most rugged and beautiful in Britain, a
challenging nine holes. Walkers will enjoy the renowned
lighthouse path, running along below the grounds of Bad-Daraich,
with its splendid views of wild and remote Ardnamurchan
Point and beautiful Loch Sunart. Really, Mull is a paradise
for all lovers of the great out-doors and it can truly be
described as an unspoilt area where the air is fresh and
sweet with scent of bog myrtle, bracken and heather. Our
climate is typically mild from the prevailing west wind
which sweeps across Scotland's west coast over the warm Gulf
Stream Drift, but sudden rain showers can be a feature of
this weather pattern so it is always wise to bring "wellies
and waterproofs", especially if a sea trip is anticipated!
